Time Spent Together In Your Head

Adam Bridgland

Jealous North

04 Nov 2021 — 28 Nov 2021

After a wildly successful opening at Jealous East, Jealous North is delighted to welcome a solo exhibition from interdisciplinary artist Adam Bridgland.

The second exhibit of ‘TimeSpent Together In Your Head’ will feature new works made especially for viewers in Crouch End. Bridgland's popular series will feature new works with his iconic slogan-clad paintings. Delicately put together, original works feature careful sentiments like "I Forgot To Say It Was Raining In London Yesterday", "We Could Use A Miracle Now", and "This Thing Of Beauty".
Responding to his environment and using materials available during lockdown, Bridgland has explored a more fluid and painterly approach to his signature style. Bridgland’s family and the landscape around his home in Cambridge were significant inspirations during this time and these sentimental influences feature greatly in his body of work. The exhibition captures fleeting and uncertain moments, creating a romantic and bittersweet feeling throughout paintings, sculptural works, and printed editions.
Bridgland's reminiscent collection of work uses found imagery, materials and text to evoke transient and beautiful points in time. His layered approach demonstrates a multitude of techniques, including screenprinting, collage and oil painting which culminate in tender and elegant mementoes of life.
