October sees Jealous Print Studio and Gallery opening their doors to a new state-of-the-art Gallery and pop-up venue in the heart of Shoreditch. Go Figure @ Jealous Crouch End
The representation of the face and the figure in art changes as human needs and artistic expression evolves.
From the early figure images created purely for communication and religious purposes, through the emergence of portraiture, to the modern day selfie, the visage is something that has become very creatively expressive.
From the bright and bold Pop portraits of Warhol, to the delicate sexual misadventure portrayed by Tracey Emin, and the macabre disfigurement from Jake and Dinos Chapman, 'Go Figure' brings together a range of prints depicting the human form from some of the leading contemporary artists, including Gary Hume, Sir Peter Blake, Charming Baker, Pam Glew, Ian Francis and Allen Jones.
Go Figure runs until 5th October
Tracey Emin – Secondary Market Availability
We have a beautiful Tracey Emin ‘When I Think About Sex’ available on the secondary market. The lithograph was published by White Cube in 2005 and is a limited edition of 1000.
"When I think about sex... it makes me realize just how alone I feel. The idea of actually holding, touching, feeling a breath, knowing the smell of someone — and the fear of life. I am a demented warrior charging into battle on every heightened occasion. What the world perceives of me from the outside is not the same from within."
