D*Face

D*Face is one of a new generation of street artists. Owner and curator of the important street art gallery Outside Institute, which is now StolenSpace gallery, D*Face sold out his first major solo show at the gallery in 2006. Siting a variety of influences, from 80s graffiti to the work of Sheperd Farey, his work takes recognisable images and uses overdrawing and collage to satirise the familiar. D*Face describes his sinister alterations and combinations of images as "A Pandora’s box of bittersweet delights - sweet and sugary on the surface, but with an unfamiliar, uncomfortable, taste beneath." D*Face's work has recently been shown at O Contemporary, Brighton and has featured on album artwork for The Automatic.
