Adam Koukoudakis

Adam Koukoudakis b. 1976, is a painter whose practice is strongly influenced by collage and printmaking. He takes stylistic inspiration from Sigmar Polke and John Baldessari, and topical prompts from historical and popular culture. Educated at Chelsea, Central Saint Martins, and Berlin Art College, Adam has trodden a steady path since graduating in 2006. After winning a finalist spot in the Nationwide Mercury Art Prize judged by Sir Peter Blake and White Cube’s Tim Marlow, Steve Lazarides purchased work from Adam’s graduate show, before commissioning and inviting him to participate in the gallery’s group show. Adam has gone on to show at the Royal College, L. A, Japan and Palestine as well as throughout the UK. The new print editions with Jealous are indicative of the new body of paintings Adam is putting together for his anticipated solo show in 2010. Adam lives and works in London.
